ECW Press Makes a Call for Your Stories!!
Calling all mothers and other collaborators in the childbirth process (fathers, siblings, doulas, midwives, nurses). ECW Press is seeking first hand birth stories for an upcoming book that will explore the emotional and physical experiences of childbirth. We hope to generate a collection that reflects diverse values and responses. We want it to be filled with great stories by anyone who has been involved in the birth of a child.

As a long time reader I am turning to your experienced readers for some help. I am a LLL
Leader who has contact with alot of pregnant moms. One called me today very upset and at
the end of her rope. She is currently 6 months pregnant with her third child and for the
past month has been covered in a thick itchy rash with hives at times. This has prevented
her from sleeping and hence her desperation. She has eliminated the usual suspects such as
dairy, wheat, soaps , detergents ;tried homeopathics, chinese herbs, and $150 in various
creams prescribed by dermatologists. Help!! has any one else experienced such a reaction
to pregnancy? Please contact me at pmwilson@bmts.com
