Connie's hospital birth story
I was a teen mom the first time too. My first was born when I was 17. I had a horrible hospital experience also then. I was in a foster home (long story) and because of that, I was on medicaid - what boils down to welfare. The doctor who delivered my daughter had a real problem with me even being there in the first place, he was so nasty to me. I said that I wanted an epidural, and he gave me lectures. I made it through labor, through transition, through pushing to the point where my daughter had crowned, then they wheeled me into the delivery room and the doctor said "Oh, she wanted an epidural, give her a spinal." I was so young and scared, and didn't even know what
to say. So they did, But you know, you don't have to be a teen unwed
mother for some hospitals to treat you like dirt. I was told with two
different labors I didn't have to push, and I didn't know what I was talking
about. And that was after I was married and in my older 20's!
